Danbury Mint Ornaments

As technology developed, Danbury’s fourth year
of ornaments became a bit more “daring”. Danbury began to use more detailed
cuts, but the basic form remained two perpendicular one-dimensional silhouettes
fused together. I believe that the storage box for this year began
to take on the more commonplace characteristics of a square 4x3 compartment
configuration. Also, the color of the storage box might have been moving
towards the red or burgundy still used today. |
