1980 Danbury Mint Ornaments

As technology developed, Danbury’s fourth year of ornaments became a bit more “daring”. Danbury began to use more detailed cuts, but the basic form remained two perpendicular one-dimensional silhouettes fused together. I believe that the storage box for this year began to take on the more commonplace characteristics of a square 4x3 compartment configuration. Also, the color of the storage box might have been moving towards the red or burgundy still used today.
